The first half of the book contains short stories written in various styles and dealing with a large variety of situations, all centered around the topic of bullying. Every story is an original, created solely for this project. Below you can read brief highlights of the first pat of the book.

THE BOOK

First part

Second Part

In 'Faith'Anita describes the harrowing tale of an abused girl orphaned in a fire, and her painfully lengthy road back to recovery.

Read 'The Victim' by Effie, to find out how a girl overcomes her natural reluctance to 'rat' on her tormentors and finally speaks up.

'Dancing UK' by Frank, deals with the subliminal abuse people with disabilities often have to put up with and how the protagonist use this abuse to his advantage.

Olinda's 'Carefree, Young and Happy' is a charmingly nostalgic look back at how simple life was during her own school days.

In 'A Class Act', Jayho tells us a story about a refugee kid being bullied by mobile phone but the story focuses not on the victim (who is actually unaware) but the person who stops it.

'Bullying', by Nancy, describes how a young immigrant girl learns the negative vocabulary of her new country.

Mariethe's,  'The Pollack',  deals with racial discrimination in a small rural French community.

'End of the line, and then you',  is a cleverly crafted story by Chris, dealing with the issue of suicide as a result of  being bullied.

These are just some examples of the excellent array of stories in the first part of the book.

The second part of the book is all about the positives that can be drawn from negative situations such as a bullying episode. In this part, readers can interactively take part in games, quizzes, listen to songs, watch a video, read poetry, or study the lives of famous people who were once victims of bullying or discrimination, and finally take away some good advice in our Legacy Letter.

Below are just a couple of the images you can look forward to in the second part of the book.

The Project

The project aims to help all victims of bullying. We are not a registered charity, so please do not send us donations, simply buy our book and you will be donating to a number of anti-bullying organiztions.

the text below is part of our mission statement.

Dear friends and colleagues
A quick reminder of what this project is about and why we are doing it.
It is about bullying.
Bullying in all its ugly forms is endemic in our world. It makes no distinctions of race, culture or religion. It doesn´t respect national borders. It doesn´t recognize wealth or poverty. It doesn´t limit itself to the hale and healthy, on the contrary, the less physically able a person is, the more fragile, the more likely it is that the individual will be a victim of bullying in some way.
Bullying doesn´t restrict itself to one gender or one age group. An overweight middle aged man can become a victim of bullying almost as much as an anorexic ten year old girl.
Bullying can happen anywhere, at any time. At school, at work, at the social club or at the local swimming pool and sadly it can also happen at home.
Gone are the days when a student who was picked on at school, would run home to find sanctuary.
The advent of social media has broken all the locks on our doors and laid bare our last refuge.

Bullying has three distinct types of victims. The person who is picked on being the obvious one. But often, witnesses of this kind of behaviour, turn themselves into victims by feeling guilty at not having taken some action in the first place. The third type of victim are the bullies themselves.
Nobody is totally good, just as nobody is totally evil. Even the biggest mass murderers in history had to be children at some point.
Recognizing the reasons for bullying is half the battle towards preventing it.
So that is the subject of our project, and WHY are we doing it? Is our aim to stamp out bullying altogether? Sadly no! Not even someone as naively optimistic as I am could possibly hope to stop such an entrenched practice.
Our primary aim is to raise awareness!
I have recently spoken with a group of secondary school students, and there wasn´t a single one of them who had not been affected by bullying in some way. All 22 of them fell into one of the three victim categories I described earlier.
When I asked how many incidents of bullying had been reported and dealt with, I wasn´t surprised to find out that less than five per cent had been reported.

Our job, nay, our mission is to make kids especially, feel more comfortable or confident discussing the subject. And if along the way, we manage to prevent just one woman, one man or one child from being bullied, then it will all have been worth it.
Thank you for your time.
Stones and sticks
May get you kicks
But I am wise
And I will rise
